The Differences between Microneedle rf and Fractional CO2 Laser for Skin Resurfacing:

• Microneedle rf uses tiny needles to cause injury to the surface of the skin. This injury triggers old skin cells to shed and collagen to be produced. Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing uses a laser to disrupt a portion of the skin, which stimulates old skin cells to shed and new collagen to be produced.
• Microneedlle rf can be a bit more budget friendly than Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing.
• Microneedle rf is better for darker skin tones, whereas Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is used more frequently with lighter skin tones.
• Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is considered more painful than Microneedle rf.
• Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing is better for more advanced signs of aging.

However, using fractional CO2 and RF microneedling combinations is often more beneficial, except in people with darker skin types. Though RF microneedling is safe for all skin types (fair to dark), CO2 laser should not be used in dark skin types because of the risk of hypo or hyper pigmentation after treatment.
